HC Communities are groups of Hospitality Center volunteers who offer regular opportunities for international students to explore life’s important questions and learn more about Christianity together in a friendly, welcoming, and supportive environment. If you have interest in joining a group please check out the groups below.

HC Community Groups

Pederson's Group
Group Leaders: Kathie & John Pederson
     John and Kathie offer a safe place to explore the big questions of our life and our world while building community      as we share our joys and stresses. Using the Discovery Bible Method on an app, you will see for yourself what the        wisdom of the Bible says about life's important questions. Enjoy pizza, friendship, and journey with other students        to discover purpose and meaning in life. Sign up and check it out!

Herman's Group
Group Leaders: Dawn & Jay Herman
     Jay and Dawn Herman will be leading an online Bible overview class during the Spring semester. This class is for        everyone who has questions about the Bible. Open discussion will be encouraged. Send them your email address      to join the class, and they’ll email you a link to join online..

HC Communities FAQs
  • How do I join?  Read about our different HC Community groups, find one that works for you, and then contact the leader (info provided with description).
  • ​What can I expect?  These communities simply offer a platform to explore important topics, learn from one another, and learn more about Christianity. It is your choice to accept or reject this information. We believe in respecting one another’s beliefs.
  • Can I just come once to see what it’s like?  Yes, definitely! 
  • Is every community the same?  Each community will offer opportunities to talk about important life questions and explore Christianity. However, each group will have some unique characteristics. Look at the group name and description on the signup form to learn more about those. 
  • Can I bring a friend?  Yes, definitely! We encourage you to bring a roommate or friend. 
  • ​What is the time commitment? Weekly or bi-weekly, depending on the group.​ ​
