Job Title: Financial Bookkeeper
Reports to: Executive Director and Board Treasurer
Start Date: Earliest is August 1st, 2023. The latest is September 1st, 2023
Part Time: 4–8 hours per week, plus additional 5–10 at the end of the month

Job Summary:
The Financial book-keeper is primarily responsible for processing all financial transactions and creating financial reports in QuickBooks supporting the Executive Director and organization through timely work, communication, and reporting. This role will work with the organization’s board treasurer to maintain financial integrity and reporting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated financial skills and familiarity with Quickbooks Online.
- Dependability in accomplishing assigned tasks and reports online.
- Must be able to problem solve and relieve supervisors of tasks.
- Additional software skills with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets. Salesforce knowledge is a bonus.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Enter all financial income and expenses transactions in Quickbooks on a weekly basis.
- Produce monthly financial balance sheet, profit and loss, and other financial reports to the Executive Director and board Treasurer.
- Quickly learn the organization’s accounting codes for quick and clear entry.
- Available to work with the organization’s board treasurer for needed information and reports.
Travel and Work Schedule:
- Primarily an offsite role.
Compensation:
- Part-Time, hourly, non-exempt. $22–$27 per hour DOE.
- 1 paid sabbatical day per year
- Part-time employees receive sick and safe time as provided for in the St. Paul Earned Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.
- This position does not currently include any medical or retirement benefits.

Staff Support Specialist

Job Summary:
The Staff Support Specialist is primarily responsible for administrative tasks that support the organization. They will work closely with each department (Programming, Volunteer, and Fundraising) as needed and as assigned by the Executive Director. We are looking for someone who excels at supporting others, enthusiastic about making teammates better, a very strong and consistent communicator, highly organized with good note-taking skills, who takes initiative, and is a problem solver.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Programming and Volunteer departments with their administrative needs.
- Collect, process, file and execute tasks from mail including organization’s paperwork and financial transactions.
- Deposit checks into banks on a regular basis.
- Responsible for managing renters in the St. Paul building, processing payments, paperwork, showing the space, answering questions and general care.
- Help the Executive Director with week-to-week administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
- Improve the filing system within the office.
- Call donors, volunteers and others for sharing appreciation and information.
- Assist with executing various events throughout the year.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED)
- Two plus years of administrative or similar experience.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent and prompt written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective in managing timelines and project budgets.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.
- Energetic and personable; takes initiative, follows up, and thinks creatively.
- Strong computer literacy and ability to learn quickly. Experience in Google Suite, especially Docs, Sheets, and Slides a plus.
- Nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Promotes and adheres to the organization’s mission, vision, values, and policies and applicable laws in a fair and equitable manner.
Qualities of the Ideal Candidate:
- Highly Missional. Able to articulate the Christian faith. Active member of a local church. Agreement with the Hospitality Center’s statement of faith and mission. Has a strong desire to use their gifts and talents to positively impact Christian ministry.

- Self-Motivated and takes initiative: Does not require extensive directions. Is skilled at taking an idea and running with it.

- Communication: Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of clear, intentional, consistent, and proactive communication.
Travel and Work Schedule:
- Available primarily for in-office hours.
- Occasional availability needed for evenings and weekends.
Compensation:
- Part-time, hourly, non-exempt. $20–24 per hour DOE.
- Mileage reimbursement.
- Part-time employees receive sick and safe time as provided for in the St. Paul Earned Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.
- 1 paid Sabbatical day per year.
- Flexible hours as long as business needs are met.
- This position does not currently include any medical or retirement benefits.
