Dear Partners in Ministry,
Originally, I was approached to apply to be The Hospitality Center for Chinese’s Executive Director in the Spring of 2014. Initially, I had no interest. As a building contractor, I had security, profitability, and a plan for my life at that time. After much prayer and consideration, I applied for the position because I truly felt called to change the world with my vocation. I was hired in May 2014 to steward this ministry with the giftings God has given me.
As a visionary, entrepreneur, pragmatic, and extremely driven, I have approached every day at the Hospitality Center as one who will give an account to God for the treasure He has allowed me to steward. By His grace and calling we have created metrics of success for the ministry, key performance indicators, new job descriptions and a new organizational chart, a new database to track the work we do and to do it better, expanded to a second location near the East Bank, completed the purchase for 100% ownership of our current building, and expanded to undergrads at new campuses and to all nations.
I have given all that I have and all that I am for our beautiful mission and I fully feel that I have run the good race and fought the good fight. It’s time to step aside and let the next steward lead The Hospitality Center into the amazing future God has for us. I have never been a manager of the status quo, and never will be satisfied without a hill to climb or a large vision to accomplish. Now is the time to grow into the infrastructure “shoes” the Lord has allowed us to have, and the vision He has given us.
My passion is still for the mission and vision of the Hospitality Center, but my calling to serve the Hospitality Center has run its course. May 31 is the end of our fiscal year and a natural time for me to transition. This year’s Friendraiser is crucial for closing out the Capital Campaign and balancing the budget. This will set the table well for who shall sit at my desk next. I will ALWAYS be here for the mission, for the staff, for the students and donors, and for the board. You have all been there for me as life has handed me ups and downs, and I will ALWAYS be grateful for you and the mission! Thank you for serving alongside me and supporting me as we brought the love of Christ to the Nations!
Humbled and honored to Change the World with you,
Tim Grunditz
