Sat. July 9th, 8 AM-3:30 PMEnjoy the beautiful St. Croix River on a kayak or canoe! From Taylors Falls, you will canoe or kayak down the St. Croix River to the Osceola Landing (about 7 miles & approximately 2-3 hours of paddling time). During this time, you can stop on an island and enjoy a snack. At the end of the trip in Osceola there will be a shuttle back to Taylors Falls. |
sat. - Sat. July 9th- 16thThis is an excellent opportunity to experience the wonder of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, challenging yourself to a week-long adventure that is sure to be a life-long memory! Wild Hearts will provide all necessary equipment, food for the week and guides. We will also provide transportation out there and back and some training before the trip. Participants will be responsible for bringing appropriate clothing and food/money for food on the way there and back. |
SatURDAY July 16th, 1-6 PMAttention thrill-seekers: come skydiving with us! All are welcome, whether this is your first time jumping or you're an experienced skydiver. You will tandem jump with an instructor from 13,000 feet. Experience the thrill of freefall and an exhilarating canopy ride with only 10 minutes of instruction! The cost is $255/person for skydiving and transportation. An optional video/photo package is available. |
Friday July 15th, 5:15-9:45 PMHospitality Center partner, Plymouth Covenant Church, has a night of snacks and badminton every other month and this has been a favorite event of many international students. Pick up from University Village is at 5:15pm. The event will begin with snacks and a volunteer sharing their life story from 6-7pm. And then you will play badminton from 7-9pm. Try not to make too much of a racket! |
Sun. July 17th, 10:30-4:30 PMTake advantage of the warm weather for a day at Long Lake Beach and Regional Park. The day will involve picnic food with vegetarian options, yard games, the option to swim, paddle board, or boat on the water. In addition, you will have the opportunity to witness a Christian baptism in the lake. Hosted by Real Life Church. |

Want to make an American friend to explore Minnesota with this summer? Friendship Match gives an opportunity for an international student to connect with a Hospitality Center volunteer on a regular basis. The program goes from June to August, with the option to continue into the fall. On June 10th, there will be a gathering where you can meet your partner for the first time. Throughout the summer you and your partner can participate in a scavenger hunt competition. There will be prizes for the winning teams! |

Partner Events
Every other Sunday from 1:30–4:30 pm Join China Friends (an international student organization at the U of M) every other week to view portions of epic Bible movies with discussion afterwards. Have you ever wondered why the Bible is by far the best-selling book of all time? Maybe you have tried to read it, but you just didn’t get very far. Well, there is a genre of film-making that attempts to capture the story of the Bible! Each session includes a dinner from a different country or region of the world. Every Thursday from 11:30–2:30 pm (Drop in) Join Hospitality Center partner, Connexions International, for a watercolor painting class. First-time painters are very welcome to join! Each class will focus on a separate emphasis. Feel free to come to one class or every class. Supplies will be provided. |
