SPONSOR A STUDENT

One of the best ways to support The Hospitality Center and be a part of the community is to sponsor an international student. It takes $25/month or $300/year to engage with one international student through programming and events.

TESTIMONIES

“When I first arrived in MN, I felt a little worried. Because it is a completely new and unfamiliar environment for me. Nobody I knew here at first. But after a few days, I got along well with my roommate and we became good friends. He told me the information about The Hospitality Center. To make more friends, I didn't hesitate to sign up for all the recent events. The events held by The Hospitality Center are really nice. People here (in Minnesota) and volunteers are so kind.”

“I feel unfamiliar when I first came here, especially the language, but people were so kind that I relaxed a lot. My first experience with The Hospitality Center was airport pick-up, I was picked up by Ms. Phyllis Ose, she was very nice and introduced Minnesota to me. I didn’t know much about Christianity before I came here, but I found Christians are very kind and helpful.”

“I felt Minnesota Nice when (I arrived in) MN. People here are so nice to foreigners. I like the rivers and ice fishing. The difficulty is the weather here is much colder than that in my home town and the snow season lasts for a very long time. The first time I joined The Hospitality Center is the pumpkin carving during Halloween. I had lots of fun to be with both Chinese and American friends.”

“You are all very friendly, I feel comfortable, not lonely when I have you around.”

“When I first came to Minneapolis, everything was new to me. The people here are nice and hospitable but it is hard to meet local people and communicate with them at first. Things get better later on with continuous involvement with The Hospitality Center.”
